Things Are Happening...

It’s been a bit since we gave you an update and it’s because we’ve been busy getting this new place off the ground. Between getting City permit paperwork completed, contractors scheduled, our own work on the space and busy Oktoberfest season…..it’s been hectic! But this update includes some photos.

Brewer Joel has almost completed freshening up the paint on the walls. All the trim has been pulled and is getting repainted. The under-stair space has been insulated in preparation of being the keg storage room.

The concrete cutter came out this week and cut a hole in the slab just inside the door so the plumber could access the sewer line and install a floor drain. And with the first cut the unmarked electrical conduit was discovered. Just a minor nick in one line that didn’t affect the electricity, but halted progress while a radar scanner was brought in to scan the rest of the area. Cutting recommenced and the electrical conduit was confirmed when the cutting water started pouring out of the outside meter box! Work stopped again and an electrician pulled the lines out so cutting could be finished in the dark. Turns out whomever installed the electrical conduit poured it into the concrete for most of it, with about half of the section we were opening up being just a fraction of an inch below the concrete. So it was going to get damaged regardless.

Cutting was finished and the electrician came back to repair the conduit and run the lines back in to restore power. Then the plumber came and installed a floor drain. Monday is a City inspection and then we can fill the hole back up!

Next week the HVAC guy is coming to install a cooling unit for the keg storage. All our sinks have arrived so we can start building out the sink counter and then have the plumber back to run supply lines.

We are doing are best to sprint this build out and hope to open at the start of December if not earlier! Fingers crossed! And did you know all those professional licensed contractors are spendy? They are for sure and we are endeavoring to get to opening without taking out any loans…..so march yourself down here and drink some beers so we can pull it off.
